Whether it's the week before the wedding or years after, a gown needs gentle, specialist handling — not a standard clean. Every dress is treated by hand on our own premises.
When a wedding dress arrives, it's examined in detail first — the fabric and lining, the boning and structure, the beading, lace, buttons and any trims, along with marks that are often invisible until they age, like champagne, make-up or perspiration around the hem and bodice.
From that assessment we decide how the gown should be cleaned rather than putting it through one fixed process. Delicate areas and embellishment are worked on by hand, the structure is supported throughout, and the dress is finished and pressed back to its original shape. Nothing is sent to an outside cleaner — your gown stays under one roof from the moment you hand it over until you collect it.

Some brides have a gown cleaned and pressed just before the wedding; others bring it to us afterwards to have marks lifted and the dress preserved. Either way, the sooner a stain is treated the better the result — marks left to set for months or years are harder to remove.
