Alterations & Repairs

Alterations that respect how the garment was made.

Taking in a seam, shortening a hem, reshaping a jacket or repairing a tear — done on-site by tailors who work to the original construction, not around it.

How We Work

Fitted on you, then finished properly.

Most alterations start with the garment on you. We pin to the fit you want, note where the balance and seams need to move, and check how the change affects the rest of the piece — a shirt taken in at the back also needs the sleeves and shoulders to still sit right.

The work is then done by hand and machine to match the garment's own construction: seams opened and re-sewn on their original lines, hems finished the way they were made, linings and facings put back properly rather than tacked over. Everything is done on our own premises, so if something needs a second fitting it's a quick trip back, not a garment lost in a courier system.

01

Pinned to fit

The garment is fitted on you and pinned to the shape you actually want.

02

Altered on the original lines

Seams and hems are moved along the garment's own construction, not bodged around it.

03

Checked and finished

Balance, linings and finishing all checked before it comes back — second fitting if needed.

What We Take On

From a quick hem to a full reshape.

Everyday alterations — hems, waists, sleeves, tapering, moving buttons — alongside bigger jobs like reshaping a jacket, restructuring a dress, replacing zips and linings, and invisible repairs to tears and moth damage. Designer and tailored pieces are handled with the same care as the cleaning side of the business. If you're not sure whether something can be altered the way you want, bring it in and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
