Everyday shoes take a beating — scuffs, salt marks, flattened suede and tired soles. Each pair is cleaned by hand and finished to suit the material, on our own premises.
When a pair comes in, we look at what it's made of and what it needs — leather, suede, nubuck, canvas and knit uppers all respond differently, and a process that works on one will damage another. Soles, midsoles, laces and insides are treated separately from the upper.
Cleaning is done by hand: dirt and staining lifted gently, suede brushed back up, leather cleaned and conditioned, and edges and soles tidied. Where it helps, we apply a protector to slow down future marking. It's slower than a machine wash and it's the only way to clean shoes without wearing them out faster — and like everything else, it's done here, not sent away.

If a pair has a particular problem — deep scuffs, water or salt staining, odour, a colour you're worried about, or delicate materials — mention it when you book or drop them in.
